Mission Statement
The Baptist General Surgery residency program will train excellent surgeons to provide high quality, safe, and cost-effective patient-centered care for the patients of the tri-state area while upholding the greater mission of Baptist Memorial Health Care of Healing, Preaching, and Teaching.
Program Aims

Provide education that meets or exceeds the ACGME and American Board of Surgery requirements while incorporating the Baptist Mission tenets throughout the curriculum.

Prepare our residents to anticipate and serve the surgical needs of our patient population.
