Visiting Medical Students
Application Submission

An Affiliation Agreement must be in place with your educational program–this can take four weeks or more to complete. You or your program must reach out to our Graduate Medical Education Corporate Office to ensure that this is in place.

Students must complete the required application and orientation documents. The following additional documentation is required a minimum of 10 business days before the placement start date. (You may send us electronic copies of all information).

Interviews
PGY-1 Positions:
Interviews for the 2027-2028 academic year will soon be underway.
We will be conducting exclusively onsite, in-person interviews for the 2027-2028 application cycle. Interview days are typically performed on Wednesdays with a pre-interview dinner the evening before. Hotel stay will be provided the evening before interviews.
Requirements:
- Current student or recent graduate of an AOA- or LCME-accredited medical school

- An applicant with only one clinical gap year may be considered

- Applicant holding US citizenship or permanent residency
- Step 1 minimum scores

- COMLEX - 500 or above is preferred
- USMLE - pass

- Step 2: a minimum score of 240 is preferred (USMLE only) - Score must be available from USMLE before the end of January
ALL APPLICANTS ARE REQUIRED TO APPLY FOR AN INTERVIEW THROUGH ERAS.

APPLICANTS, REMEMBER TO SIGN UP THROUGH NRMP AS WELL AS THROUGH ERAS. YOU CANNOT BE RANKED IF YOU DO NOT SIGN UP FOR THE MATCH.
All incoming residents will be screened by our corporate office for compliance with our hiring requirements. Screening will include a background check - including sex offender and health care abuse - and drug screen. Failure to meet our hiring requirements will void the Match agreement. Please note that Baptist is a Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace.
All application information must be submitted through the Electronic Residency Application System (ERAS)
