About Dr. VanFossen

Born and raised in Muskegon, Michigan, Erik VanFossen’s journey to medicine was inspired by personal experiences and a lifelong passion for teamwork and service. He attended Albion College, where he played collegiate soccer and developed leadership skills as team captain. Erik continued his education at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he actively engaged in global health initiatives and research.

His clinical rotations and sub-internships solidified his commitment to surgery. Erik has earned recognition for his strong work ethic, adaptability, and dedication to patient care. He is bilingual in English and Spanish, which enhances his ability to connect with diverse patient populations.

Hobbies & Interests

Erik enjoys traveling, trying new foods, and spending time in nature. He is passionate about sports, especially soccer and basketball, and loves playing the piano. He also seeks opportunities to practice Spanish and immerse himself in diverse cultures.
