About Dr. Loewen

Clara Loewen brings a unique blend of clinical experience, resilience, and compassion to her role as a General Surgery resident. Her journey to medicine began with over a decade of hands-on experience in her family’s surgical dental clinic, where she developed a strong foundation in procedural care and patient communication. These early experiences shaped her commitment to continuity of care and advocacy for patients.

During her clinical years, Clara completed sub-internships in General Surgery and Internal Medicine at Baptist Memorial, actively participating in surgical procedures, patient rounds, and educational conferences. Her rotations across Tennessee and Mississippi deepened her connection to the community and reinforced her passion for surgery.

Clara enjoys singing and playing piano, having performed and competed in both. Her other hobbies include running, tennis, reading novels, knitting, and recently, learning needlepoint. She values creativity and balance, bringing the same dedication to her personal passions as she does to her medical career.
